Great Day 2 !!!

Even though I woke up with a headache this morning, today ended up being a GREAT day. I think I did not drink enough water yesterday.... lots of coffee, but not enough water; consequently, that made this morning pretty rough. We stopped by Starbucks and picked up breakfast. I just had a bite of Clay's scone because I was still feeling funny. However, I did enjoy my nonfat cafe misto.... after I guzzled some H2O. We made it to the Georgia Aquarium by 10:15am. This place was amazing. I know, I know.... We live in Florida. Why did we go to the aquarium? It is actually the largest indoor aquarium outside of Asia. They have four whale sharks and a very impressive dive exhibit. Clay really enjoys marine biology and can pretty much tell you the name of every fish there. It was very cool.

We finished up at about 2:00, so we grabbed lunch at a place called Wich Wich. This place was amazing. You walk in and pick out a paper bag that has the type of sandwich you want on it (I have pictures, but I took them with my camera and left the upload cord at home). I picked the vegetarian, on wheat bread, mozzarella cheese, olives, black bean patty, lettuce, horseradish sauce.... I cannot remember what else was on it. I only ate half and saved the other half for dinner.

We got back to the hotel around 3:00 and tried to think of other things to do. We wanted something cheap and outdoors. We found a beautiful park nearby called Piedmont Park. I am telling you, this place reminded me of a small scale Central Park from NYC. Clay went fishing and I went for a ten mile run. I am so glad that this worked out because I really did not want to get on a treadmill. I had pretty much decided that I was just not going to workout today because I wanted to do what I wanted to do (so that did not involve a treadmill)... When Clay brought up the idea of a park I changed my mind =) My run was solid. I had no music, but the scenery was amazing and totally distracting (in a good way). I had to run the loop a few times to get to my ten miles, but it was fun. By the end of the run, I could have been a park tour guide!!!
Get a little stretchy stretch on before the run.... holy bags under my eyes!

Some fancy schmancy clubhouse... I could see people looking at me from their treadmills inside.... HAHA

What a fun day! We had a great time exploring and taking it easy. Yes, I ran ten miles, but the fact that I could run ten miles when I would usually be at work, and come back to the hotel and watch tv, blog, and eat a sandwich.... that IS taking it easy =) We went to Publix and picked up some dinner and snacks for the evening. Our plans tonight???? Watching a tribute to Jack Nicklaus and the pre-Masters tournament shows on the golf channel =) Have a great evening !!!!

  3. Seriously, it was one of those runs that you just feel like you can keep going. I figured since it was vaca, I should take advantage of it. Yes, Krista, no music is usually so hard, but it was so pretty AND I did not want to get lost, so I was completely entertained/distracted!!!! GORGEOUS GORGEOUS run. Too bad a don't get a shirt or a medal for it. =)
